    The Columbus Urban League is currently seeking an EDUCATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

    The EDUCATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST provides in-school and/or afterschool support and tutoring.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitor student attendance/assignments.
    • Design individual Student Success Plans (SSP) to include enrichment and/or academic goals.
    • Work directly with students.
    • Implement proven strategies to engage youth (K-12).
    • Manage communication with parents and teachers regarding student progress.
    • Assess, assist, and encourage during the learning process.
    • Observe and document the client’s progress, review materials used in classes, explain various topics, and answer all doubts and questions regarding school topics.
    • Provide Education Support Sessions (ESS) via in-person or virtual.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Organized and self-directed.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
    • Associate’s degree with 2-3 years of experience in direct service with youth programming.
    • Direct customer service and administrative support duties or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Advanced computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office required.
    • Valid driver license, auto insurance and reliable transportation is required.
