Job Summary:
The Personal Support Worker provides clients personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.
Essential Functions:
Personal Care
Provide assistance with: showering three times a week and daily peri care
Motion range exercise
Companion
Provide companionship, encourage walking, play games, engage in conversation
Breakfast and lunch preparation
Perform homemaking activities
Medication Services
Assist with medications that the client self-administers
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent certificate
Experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities) is an asset
Meets passing criteria on DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) online test
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
Necessary initial and ongoing training will be provided.
