We have current and future openings to fill and are looking for dedicated CNAs to joint our employeee providing one-on-one care to our clients in their homes. Whether you are looking to get started in a home care career or are an experienced CNA, we will work with you to match your skills and interestes with our wonderful clients.
Shifts are available throughout Northern Anne Arundel County and all of Howard County. We always take into consideration your availability and preferred locations when setting you up with a client(s).
We only hire direct (W2) employees and offer competitive pay, in-person and online training, as well as opportunities for advancement. Do you wish you weren't stretched between too many clients that you can't handle at any one time? So do we, some come to us and work a less hectic but fulfilling pace, focusing on care for one individual client at a time.Job Summary:
A ComForCare Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides individual clients a menu of tailored personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain safe, independent and living their best life possible, in the most comfortable environment -- their own home.
Essential Functions:
Personal Care
Provide assistance with: bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheel chair, walker, crutches, cane), change of position, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
Taking and recording vital signs
Measuring and recording weight
Companion/Sitter/Household Management
Provide companionship and respite services for family
Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms
Medication Reminders including certified care services if authorized by nurse
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
High school graduate or G.E.D certificate
State CNA license with successful completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant course of study
At least six to twelve months prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
Be listed in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing
Achieves a minimum score of 80% on competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)
Meets passing criteria on DEARS Ethics test
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English or other language if needed to communicate effectively with an individual client
Possess a valid driver's license and possess for your use an insured vehicle for the job
Other specialized abilities and skills may be needed for individual clients (e.g. Hoyer use)
Must pass criminal background check to the extent required by Maryland Law
