We invite you to become part of our team! We have an open position for a weekend On Call CNA and are looking for the very best to support our clients in their homes. If you are an experienced aide, we have something for you.

On Call begins on Friday at 5:00 PM and ends on Monday 12:00 AM. You will be required to travel within the Saginaw, Bay City and Midland areas. Mileage will be paid for travel in excess of 30 miles each way. This position provides competitive pay and training.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) provides various personal care and homemaker/companion services to clients in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.

Essential Functions:

Personal Care

Provide assistance with: bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheel chair, walker, crutches, cane), change of position, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding

Companion/Sitter/Household Management

Provide companionship and respite services for family

Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms

Medication Services

Assist with medications that the client self-administers

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

High school graduate or G.E.D certificate

Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Nurse Aide course

Be listed in good standing on the Michigan CNA Registry

Will need to have current CPR certification and negative TB test result (within the last 12 months)

At least 1 year's experience as a Certified Nurse Aide (in homes or facilities)

Achieves a minimum score of 80% on competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)

Must be hoyer trained and proficient in client transfers

Meets passing criteria on DEARS Ethics test

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job. Bi-lingual is a plus.

Possess a valid driver's license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job.

Willing to transport client in your vehicle, if necessary

Must be pet friendly

Willing to work with smokers
