Comeaux Furniture and Appliance, is a well-established mid-size company located in the Greater New Orleans area. A family-owned furniture and appliance company seeking an experienced full-time Accountant / Bookkeeper. Hourly salary will be $24.00 per hour ($50,000 annually). Benefit’s package includes health insurance, dental and vision, vacation and PTO accruals.

HOURS/LOCATION:

Monday thru Friday In-Office (Non-Remote) 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Location: 3949 Euphrosine St, New Orleans, LA 70125

DUTIES:

· Daily posting and balancing of all financial transactions

· Monthly balancing of all relevant bank and general ledger accounts

· Evaluate, analyze, and report monthly P&L to owners in coordination with Controller

· Prepare other schedules and financials to coordinate with outside accountants

· Research technical issues regarding tax, h/r, or financial accounting for requirements and compliance

· Aid in the development of internal controls

REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred

· Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or relevant accounting experience

· Working knowledge of federal and local tax regulations and compliance reporting

· Efficient use and understanding of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook…)

· Excellent communication and computation skills · I.T. knowledge and experience a plus (software/hardware, phone systems, network troubleshooting, etc.)

· Knowledge of bookkeeping principles
