    The Commercial Account Executive is responsible for selling commercial flooring products and services and to facilitate new business growth through negotiated and/or bid work and to ensure that the work is installed in accordance with M&W Commercial Flooring’s expected company standards on each project.

    An Account Executive will take ownership of multiple projects from planning to completion. They serve as the bridge between the customer and production teams. As such they will communicate equally well with technical and non-technical personnel. They are responsible for defining the project scope, estimating time, and need of technical resources, project plans, project management, quality assurance, and ensuring activities occur according to plan. They will direct the staff required and assigned to their projects across various teams.

    They will be an excellent communicator, an expert listener and able to rationalize potential issues and look to provide solutions. He/She will have a good working knowledge of project management methodologies. He/She will have exceptional, demonstrable project management skills. They will be very much hands-on when needed and able to apply their knowledge and skills to both internal and external projects. He/She will be able to create a comprehensive project execution plan, identifying key stage requirements and technical specifications.

    Must pass a Background Check. Position reports to the Director.

    Commercial Account Executive Primary Tasks.

    • Oversee all aspects of assigned commercial project management team
    • Provide coaching and guidance to all team members about every aspect of sold projects
    • Own the job from planning to completion
    • Evaluate, negotiate and win projects Assist in identifying all internal and external resources; whether financial or human resources, required for completing projects successfully
    • Continue to develop business with existing customers and always looking for new projects and markets to enter. Using lead sources, industry knowledge, sales data and company-provided business intelligence, establish and execute sales prospecting on a daily basis.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with customers
    • Provide customer service before, during and after the sales transaction. This may include site visits, installation assistance, claims management or other necessary actions.
    • Network with customers and vendors through industry associations, social events, lunches/dinners, planned company events, etc.
    • Final responsibility for change orders
    • Negotiate contract and ensure that scope of work matches proposal and pricing
    • Maintain and protect profit
    • Estimate jobs using RFMS Measure unless assigned to an estimator
    • Update Bid Tracker, and MS Planner
    • Compile cost estimates utilizing Planner
    • Communicate with customer about material arrival and schedule
    • Work with installation department to execute and write job-specific contracts for subcontractors
    • Release materials from vendors in a way that is beneficial to space and cash flow management
    • Communicate schedule of jobs to installation managers and installers
    • Approve and manage subcontractor invoices, ensuring payments are accurate
    • Approve any additional cost or purchases
    • Track subcontractor payments against budget
    • Make periodic job visits to ensure project management and superintendent accountability, audit progress and quality
    • Be the office point-of-contact for the customer and the installer
    • Other duties as assigned by the commercial general director
