Key Responsibilities – Commercial Construction Estimator
- Organize and prepare pre-bid packages; secure plans, specs, addenda.
- Review bid specifications and drawings; define inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for studs, drywall, ceilings, insulation, accessories using OST or The EDGE.
- Solicit and level material quotes; identify value-engineering options.
- Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and bid forms; track assumptions.
- Maintain vendor and supplier pricing database; nurture relationships.
- Lead internal estimate reviews; document risks and alternates.
- Support handoff to operations; assist with budgets, change pricing, and buyout.
- Uphold safety policies during site walks; local travel ~15%.
Qualifications – Commercial Construction Estimator
- 1–3 years estimating commercial interiors (ground-up and renovations).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong plan/spec reading; CSI divisions relevant to interiors.
- Detail focus; manages multiple deadlines; clear written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications – Commercial Construction Estimator
- BS in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with OST or The EDGE; Bluebeam a plus.
- Familiarity with union labor environments.
- Ability to transition estimates into project management on award.
