  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to join the team in the Richmond, VA area. This hands-on leadership role will oversee day-to-day field operations across a variety of commercial projects and offers the opportunity to grow with a collaborative, expanding organization that values quality, communication, and long-term employee development.

    What You'll Do as the Superintendent:

    • Oversee daily field operations from project kickoff through closeout
    • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and site logistics
    • Maintain project schedules and help ensure key milestones are achieved
    • Lead site safety efforts, including daily walks and safety meetings
    • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
    • Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project documentation
    • Communicate regularly with Project Managers, clients, ownership, and trade partners
    • Track project progress and maintain accurate field reporting
    • Maintain organized, professional, and safety-focused jobsites
    • Assist with field problem-solving and coordination throughout the project lifecycle

    Must-Haves as the Superintendent:

    • 3+ years of Superintendent experience within commercial construction
    • Experience managing commercial renovation and/or ground-up projects
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
    • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
    • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
    • Ability to independently manage field operations and jobsite activity
    • Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented approach
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment

    Nice-to-Haves as the Superintendent:

    • Experience working for a commercial general contractor
    • Procore and Bluebeam experience
    • Exposure to higher education, government, institutional, or public sector projects
    • Experience managing projects ranging from approximately up to $5M
    • Interest in long-term career growth within a smaller, expanding GC environment
