Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent / Working Supervisor who will take full responsibility for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with schedule and budget. This role is primarily supervisory in nature, requiring strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills; however, the ideal candidate must also possess strong hands-on construction experience and be willing and able to work with the tools when necessary. When schedules fall behind, manpower is limited, or additional field support is needed, this individual must be capable of stepping in alongside the crew to help keep the project moving forward. A thorough understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and trade coordination is essential, along with the ability to lead by example and support the team in both management and active production roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of commercial remodeling and new construction projects
Coordinate subcontractors, materials, inspections, and scheduling
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget
Keep a clean and orderly job site
Maintain job site safety and enforce OSHA standards
Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members
Perform hands-on construction tasks as needed to support project progress
Maintain daily reports and project documentation using Word and Excel
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in commercial/retail construction
Strong working knowledge of all construction trades
Must be capable of performing hands-on field work and operating construction tools and equipment when additional manpower or schedule recovery efforts are required.
Proven ability to manage multiple aspects of a job site simultaneously
OSHA certification required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to travel as required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Capable of performing physical labor in various weather conditions
Able to stand, walk, bend, and work on active job sites for extended period
Additional Requirements:
Must pass random drug and alcohol testing
Fluent in English (spoken and written
