    Job Description: Regional Credit Manager

    Position Summary

    The Regional Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit underwriting process within an assigned region, managing a team of credit analysts, and ensuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of credit decisions. This role serves as a key control point in the credit lifecycle—reviewing deals both at intake and prior to approval—while managing workflow, team development, and pipeline execution.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of Credit Analysts supporting commercial lending activities
    • Oversee the credit pipeline from initial intake through final approval
    • Perform preliminary deal review to identify missing information or structural issues
    • Conduct final quality control (QC) review before credit packages are submitted for approval
    • Assign deals and manage workload distribution across the team
    • Ensure credit packages meet internal policy, risk standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Partner with senior credit leadership on complex deals and escalations
    • Drive turnaround times and maintain efficiency across the underwriting process
    • Support implementation and optimization of systems (e.g., nCino)
    • Mentor and develop analysts, including preparing them for advancement into senior roles or portfolio management

    Team & Reporting Structure

    • Reports to: Senior Credit Manager
    • Direct reports: Credit Analysts / Senior Credit Analysts
    • Works closely with: Credit leadership, lending teams, and approval committees

    Qualifications

    • 5–10+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience (CRE-heavy preferred)
    • Prior leadership experience OR strong desire to grow into a management role
    • Deep understanding of:
      • Commercial Real Estate (CRE)
      • Construction / Development lending
      • C&I lending (preferred)
    • Strong credit analysis, risk assessment, and structuring skills
    • Experience managing pipelines and deadlines in a high-volume environment
    • Familiarity with credit systems (nCino preferred)
    • Excellent communication and team leadership skills

    Preferred Profile

    • Senior Credit Analyst or Portfolio Manager ready to step into leadership
    • Ability to balance technical credit work + people management
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented bank

    Work Environment

    • In-office role (flexibility granted case-by-case)
    • Team is geographically distributed but highly collaborative
