Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Door and Hardware Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of commercial doors, frames, and associated hardware. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial door systems, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities
Install and fit commercial doors, including hollow metal and wood doors, according to specifications and blueprints.
Install door frames, ensuring proper alignment, plumb, and level.
Install and adjust a wide range of door hardware, including hinges, closers, panic devices, locks (mechanical and electrified), access control hardware, weatherstripping, and thresholds.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings to ensure accurate installation.
Perform repairs and maintenance on existing commercial doors and hardware.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with door systems and hardware.
Cut, drill, and prepare openings for doors and hardware.
Ensure all installations comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ADA compliance, fire ratings).
Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders and installation reports.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as a commercial door and hardware installer.
Strong knowledge of various commercial door types, frames, and hardware.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings.
Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to commercial doors and hardware.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
Experience with electrified hardware and access control systems is a plus.
Welding experience is a plus.
