Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Hood Installer (Lead Installer)

Position Overview
Hoods Unlimited is seeking an experienced Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Hood Installer who can take ownership of full system installations from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to design, plan, fabricate, and install complete kitchen exhaust systems based on real-world applications.
The ideal candidate has experience evaluating cooking environments, selecting appropriate systems, sourcing materials, coordinating jobs, and executing high-quality installations—including welding and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate commercial kitchen environments and determine appropriate hood and exhaust system requirements based on cooking equipment and layout
Plan and execute full installations of kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ductwork, exhaust fans, and make-up air systems
Perform welding and fabrication of ductwork and system components as needed
Read and interpret plans, drawings, and field conditions to ensure proper system design and installation
Source materials and maintain relationships with suppliers for equipment, ductwork, and components
Build job cost estimates, order materials, and ensure projects stay within budget
Coordinate with the office team on scheduling, project timelines, and job updates
Communicate with customers on-site regarding scope, expectations, and progress
Provide clear timelines and ensure projects are completed on schedule
Ensure all installations meet code requirements, safety standards, and company quality expectations
Take full ownership of projects from kickoff through completion
Qualifications
Proven experience installing commercial kitchen exhaust hood systems from start to finish
Strong knowledge of system design based on cooking equipment and kitchen environments
Experience with welding and fabrication (ductwork, structural components, etc.)
Ability to estimate jobs, order materials, and manage project costs
Existing relationships with suppliers or familiarity with sourcing equipment/materials
Strong understanding of installation best practices and applicable codes
Ability to work independently and lead projects in the field
Strong communication and organizational skills
Reliable, accountable, and detail-oriented
