    Summary/Objective

    The Commercial Lines Technical Assistant supports the Commercial Lines Account Management team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of small commercial accounts valued over $50,000. This position is responsible for certificate issuance, policy processing, documentation accuracy, and compliance standards while maintaining agency service expectations. The Technical Assistant plays a critical role in operational efficiency, quality control, and supporting Account Managers in the servicing and retention of business.

    Essential Functions

    Issue standard certificates using approved agency templates and verify certificate holder accuracy.

    Handle custom certificate wording and rush certificate requests.

    Audit certificates for compliance and accuracy; resolve holder or carrier discrepancies.

    Enter and update policy data accurately in AMS360.

    Process endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, audits, and other servicing transactions.

    Review complex endorsements for coverage accuracy and form integrity.

    Support Account Managers during renewal cycles, including pulling loss runs and assisting with exposure analysis.

    Assist with preparation of quote summary templates when requested.

    Complete assigned processing tasks within designated turnaround times.

    · Maintain documentation and filing standards in accordance with agency procedures.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime may be required. Some weekend event participation may be required.

    Travel

    Minimal to zero travel required. Travel to local events may be required.

    Required Education and Experience

    Highschool Graduation or GED

    440 Insurance License

    2 Years experience commercial underwriting

    Preferred Education and Experience

    4 Year college degree

    220 Insurance License

    4 Years industry experience in commercial underwriting

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Commercial Department Experience at an independent agency.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and AMS 360
