    Job Title: Loan Officer Reports To: Senior Vice President of Lending

    Employment Type: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Harlan, Indiana possible travel to Antwerp and Payne Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, Wednesday 7:30 AM-12:00 PM Saturday rotation (with flexibility as needed)

    Job Summary:

    The Loan Officer is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial loans, evaluating creditworthiness, and fostering relationships with business clients to drive revenue growth. This role involves analyzing financial data, structuring loan deals, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations while minimizing risk.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Client Consultation & Origination:

    · Meet with customers to assess financial needs and recommend suitable loan products based upon business/personal goals and financial health.

    Underwriting & Analysis:

    · Analyze applicants’ financial condition, projections, credit history, and collateral position to determine the client’s creditworthiness.

    · Ensure all underwriting adheres to bank and regulatory requirements

    Documentation & Compliance:

    · Originate and submit loan applications for underwriting, including gathering and verifying financial information.

    · Ensure all loan documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with federal regulations and internal bank policies.

    · Co-ordinate closings and disbursements of loan proceeds.

    · Maintain strong knowledge of loan policies, interest rates, and available bank products.

    Portfolio Management:

    · Monitor existing loan portfolios for performance (i.e. timely payments and requested financial information), renewals, and risk. Mitigate potential defaults through proactive client outreach.

    Business Development:

    · Generate new leads through networking, referrals, and community involvement.

    · Cross-sell additional bank products that meet the financial needs of clients.

    Reporting/Monitoring:

    · Maintain accurate records

    · Participate in community outreach, networking, and bank-sponsored events to promote lending services.

    · Ensure all lending activities comply with bank policies, as well as federal and state regulations.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    · High school diploma or equivalent - bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.

    Experience:

    · 2+ years of experience in consumer, mortgage, or commercial lending.

    Skills:

    · Strong analytical skills with proficiencies in financial analysis and credit risk assessment.

    · Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

    · Proficient in loan origination software, banking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    · Ability to meet sales goals and manage a loan pipeline effectively.

    · Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
