    Description

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to lead our Commercial Solar Division. In this role, you will drive the company's growth and profitability by developing business strategies, managing client relationships, and overseeing contract negotiations

    The Commercial Manager will oversee sales, operations, and field service teams, ensuring the successful delivery of commercial solar projects and services while driving profitable growth. This leader will develop market strategy, strengthen client relationships, optimize service delivery, and build scalable systems that position the division for continued expansion.

    Responsibilities

    Division Leadership & Strategy

    Provide overall leadership for the Commercial Solar Division, overseeing sales, operations, and field service teams.

    Develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.

    Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.

    Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy and growth initiatives.

    Financial & Business Performance

    Own the division’s profit and loss (P&L), including pricing strategy, cost management, forecasting, and financial performance.

    Monitor key financial metrics including COGS, margins, and project profitability.

    Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, pricing structures, and service delivery models.

    Sales Leadership & Market Development

    Lead and support the commercial sales team to drive new project opportunities and service contracts.

    Expand market share through strategic partnerships, referral networks, and targeted business development.

    Collaborate with marketing to position the company as the leading commercial solar service provider in the Carolinas.

    Operations & Field Execution

    Oversee project delivery, service operations, and field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

    Develop scalable operational processes that support both new installations and ongoing service work.

    Ensure effective coordination between sales, project management, and field technicians.

    Team Leadership & Development

    Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

    Provide clear direction and performance expectations across the commercial division.

    Process Optimization

    Streamline workflows from sales opportunity to project completion and service follow-up.

    Implement systems that improve scheduling, service delivery, reporting, and customer communication.

    Risk Management & Compliance

    Ensure projects comply with utility requirements, permitting regulations, electrical codes, and construction standards.

    Establish internal controls and procedures to protect company assets and maintain operational consistency.

    Performance Monitoring & Reporting

    Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for sales, operations, and field performance.

    Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership on divisional performance and growth opportunities.

    Qualifications

    Proven experience leading commercial operations with responsibility for sales, field teams, and financial performance.

    Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

    Demonstrated ability to manage commercial construction and/or solar projects from sales through execution.

    Experience developing and improving service delivery processes and operational systems.

    Strong business acumen with experience managing P&L, forecasting, and performance metrics.

    Deep understanding of utility coordination, permitting processes, electrical systems, and construction practices.

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial solar, electrical contracting, or construction management.

    Experience managing commercial installation and service teams preferred.
