Job Summary
Our Established construction firm is growing its clientele, and we have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated, well-organized individual to join our team of professionals. This position requires you to be in the office Monday thru Friday 7AM to 4PM. No remote work.
Responsibilities
Develop project estimates based on plans and specs
Request quotes for fixtures, equipment, and material from vendors
Attend if necessary on-site walk-throughs
Print Drawings
St up and send out RFQ'S through bid plan room
Develop SOW ad RFI lists for new bid projects
Maintain estimation job folders
Review and understand project specs
Follow up with vendors and subs on their bid status
Able to read architectural and mechanical plans to develop cost estimates
Complete accurate estimates take-offs using Quote soft onscreen estimating software
Manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Organize previous takeoffs and estimates for future project review
perform subcontractor and vendor estimate reviews
Assist in developing initial budgets and estimates for design-build projects
Review cost estimates with management for potential scope gaps and finalizes bid for submission
Impeccable problem-solving skills
Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required
Ensure timely completion of estimates
Manage bid pricing from vendors and subs
Maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Interact with subs and vendors during bid process
Qualifications
High School diploma Required, Bachelors in a related field would be preferred
College or Trade school experience is a plus
Experience in the construction industry
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Hands-on field experience with plumbing and mechanical projects a bonus
MUST have experience in project cost estimating in commercial plumbing and mechanical trades
MUST have a strong background and be experience with Microsoft Word/Excel and Windows
