Commercial Portfolio Analyst
Department: Commercial Lending | Exempt | Reports to Portfolio Manager
About the Role
We're looking for a Commercial Portfolio Analyst to join our Commercial Lending team. This is a varied role with real ownership: you'll manage credit and portfolio administration for a commercial loan book, while also taking the lead on construction loan draws, SBA loan servicing, and USDA B&I support. It's a strong fit for someone who wants breadth beyond straight credit analysis and enjoys being the go-to person for clients and internal partners alike.
What You'll Do
Portfolio & Credit
- Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns to assess ongoing creditworthiness
- Monitor covenants, collateral conditions, and reporting requirements; prepare annual reviews, risk ratings, and renewals
- Maintain compliant loan files and produce portfolio reports and risk metrics for management
Construction Lending
- Process draw requests, verifying invoices, lien waivers, inspections, and title updates
- Coordinate with inspectors, title companies, and fund control partners
- Track budgets and reserves, flagging overruns, delays, or compliance issues
SBA Servicing
- Serve as primary contact for SBA clients from closing through payoff
- Process servicing actions and coordinate with SBA and secondary market investors per SOP requirements
USDA B&I Support
- Monitor covenant compliance and reporting for USDA B&I guaranteed loans
Audit Support
- Keep files audit ready and assist with exam and audit requests
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years in commercial credit analysis, loan servicing, or portfolio administration; construction, SBA, or USDA experience a plus
- Working knowledge of NCUA, Reg B, and BSA/AML requirements
- Strong Excel skills and financial statement analysis ability
- Sharp attention to detail and comfort managing multiple deadlines
Good to Know
- Standard office setting, with occasional site visits or client meetings and some local travel
- Occasional evenings/weekends around deadlines
