    Position Summary

    The Bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join its commercial credit team in a collaborative, relationship-focused environment. This role partners closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to evaluate new and existing credit opportunities, structure transactions, and provide sound credit recommendations that support long-term client relationships while maintaining strong portfolio quality.

    The ideal candidate brings a solid commercial credit foundation with experience analyzing commercial real estate and commercial & industrial transactions. This individual enjoys working directly with lenders, thinking critically about credit risk, and contributing to a collaborative credit culture where decisions are made close to the customer.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze commercial loan requests, including commercial real estate, construction, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate, and C&I transactions.

    • Prepare comprehensive credit presentations, financial analyses, and risk assessments.

    • Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, global cash flow, debt service coverage, and collateral.

    • Assess transaction structure, repayment sources, covenant compliance, and overall credit risk.

    • Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers throughout the underwriting process while providing thoughtful credit recommendations.

    • Assist with renewals, modifications, annual reviews, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

    • Ensure credit packages comply with bank policy and regulatory expectations.

    • Communicate effectively with lenders and credit leadership throughout the approval process.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management experience.

    • Experience underwriting commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loans.

    • Strong understanding of commercial financial statement analysis and cash flow analysis.

    • Ability to analyze complex credit relationships and communicate recommendations clearly.

    • Experience working within a community or regional bank environment preferred.

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
