Your Role
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting, negotiation, underwriting and coordinating the closing of all types of loans, including: C&I, CRE, and business loans, in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures. The Commercial Loan Officer assists in attaining established Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs. This position handles a portfolio of moderate to complex level of commercial loans.

- Establishes and services a sound loan portfolio by cultivating new business and expanding existing portfolio.
- Provides quality customer service to area businesses and professionals.
- Calls on potential and existing customers to develop new business and increase and retain existing business.
- Solicits, develops, and services a wide variety of commercial loans and lines of credit, both secured and unsecured.
- Interviews loan applicants and analyzes applications and supporting credit information to determine needs, abilities, and earnings to determine whether the loan would be an acceptable risk within accepted lending practices and current Bank policies.
- Analyzes complex business transactions across all industries, ranging from commercial to industrial loans to income producing real estate loans.
- Monitors assigned credits for compliance with terms of loan approval.
- Provides direction to Credit Analysts in the development and analysis of financial background data for new or renewed loans and may perform credit analyst functions on occasion.
- Provides clients appropriate and profitable financial solutions to their current and changing financial needs.
- Arranges credit/deposit facilities for new and existing customers.
- Manages existing portfolios to maximize client profitability.
- Participates in various community service or social organizations on behalf of the Bank.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge and understanding of the Bank’s products, services, Loan Policy and procedures, along with general knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations that govern commercial/business lending.
- Excellent business development and client cultivation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
Education and Experience
- Five or more years of commercial lending/relationship management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred.
- Formal credit training.
