We are looking for Commercial Roof Inspector. The ideal candidate has been a production roofer for at least 10 years ending not more than 5 years ago; and installed multiple roof types: single ply roofs a.k.a. EPDM, TPO, PVC, KEE, as well as, modified, shingle, metal, etc. If this is you, please keep reading.

This job requires a clean background check for government work. No ifs, ands or buts here. Got this? Keep reading.

This job requires good to great physical condition because it's not unusual for us to climb a 7-story scaffold and then go up and down 30 ft. ladders to do inspections that require getting down on our hands and knees to inspect a detail; or carry a 50 lb ladder more than the length of a basketball court to do an inspection and carry it back when it's 100 degrees outside; or stand on a roof for 8 hours when it's below freezing (or over 100 degrees); or have to draw and inspect a roof only to have it start raining. These are real examples of our work. This job does not take the toll on your body that production roofing does, but it's not a cake-walk either. Still interested? Keep reading.

You have to be comfortable dealing with conflict. When a foreman doesn't like being told they're doing something wrong and want to argue with you, you have to be willing and able to deal with it. You have to be willing to tell the foreman what to do or correct how they're doing it, even if it means they have to take something apart and redo it. We protect the owner, period. Sound like fun? Keep reading.

You have to be honest and able to work independently. This means determining where to go for the day's inspections or if none of the crews are working then taking the initiative to work from home by either helping with other things or learning by reading or online classes. A rain day is not a day off. Glad to not be bored? Keep reading.

You have to be willing to learn. You'll need to learn how we perform an inspection, how we write reports, if necessary how to read plans and specifications, more about roofing and installation, about waterproofing and masonry and any other item that may cause what the owner assumes is a roof leak. Ready to know the other stuff?

This is a salaried position - you get paid even when you're working from home and not a rooftop.

If you're overqualified than above and below, yes we will consider negotiating salary, but you have to be able to demonstrate everything needed in this job.

    Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough inspections of commercial roofing systems to assess current conditions.

Identify and document issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations for repairs.

Collaborate with project managers and clients to discuss inspection findings.

Utilize industry-specific tools and technology for accurate assessments.

Stay updated on current roofing trends, materials, and safety regulations.

Provide expert advice on maintenance and preventive measures for roofing systems.

Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines during inspections.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
