Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to join our growing commercial roofing team. This role is responsible for leading field personnel to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality roofing and waterproofing installations in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong commercial roofing experience who can manage production, support foremen, and serve as a professional representative of the company in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and quality roof system installations
- Support and mentor foremen with crew leadership, training, and performance feedback
- Conduct daily job site visits and safety audits
- Ensure crews have all information, materials, and instructions required to complete work
- Track labor hours, production, and job progress against project goals
- Schedule materials, equipment, and deliveries while minimizing waste and inventory shortages
- Review job documentation and final paperwork to ensure change orders are properly reflected and billed
- Coordinate job details between field and office teams, including pre-job planning and site-specific safety plans
- Participate in manufacturer inspections and warranty closeouts
- Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts; provide documentation and reporting to the office
- Engage with customers regularly to provide updates, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction
Qualifications
- Required: Commercial roofing Superintendent or Field Operations experience
- Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, and budgeting
- Solid math skills related to roofing production and material usage
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Self-motivated leader with strong decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
