Commercial Roofing Estimator – Production & Re-Roof

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Pay: 125k + incentives and vehicle

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator specializing in production and re-roof projects to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals for commercial roofing work. This role is critical to pre-construction planning and focuses heavily on occupied buildings, tear-offs, system replacements, and large-scale production re-roof projects.

The Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, site conditions, and existing roof systems to determine labor, material, equipment, and schedule requirements. Working closely with sales, project management, service, and operations teams, this position helps ensure profitable, well-executed projects from bid through turnover.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for commercial production and re-roof projects
• Review plans, specifications, and existing roof conditions to perform accurate take-offs and scope reviews
• Evaluate labor productivity, material quantities, equipment needs, and phasing requirements for occupied facilities
• Draft and submit proposals to general contractors, property managers, owners, and private clients
• Create and request shop drawings and prepare submittal letters
• Obtain and organize product data sheets, samples, and warranty requirements
• Maintain and utilize bid logs to track bids, win rates, and estimating performance
• Ensure estimating and handoff processes are followed from pre-bid through project kickoff
• Assess cost effectiveness of systems, materials, and methods and track actual costs versus bid assumptions
• Field customer questions and provide technical support during the pre-construction phase
• Consult with clients, vendors, foremen, and internal teams to clarify scope and resolve estimating issues
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors regarding scope changes and pricing adjustments
• Assist with budget development and value engineering initiatives
• Support Project Management, Service, and Office teams as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Proven experience estimating commercial roofing production and re-roof projects
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, tear-offs, recover systems, and retrofit applications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and industry estimating software
• Ability to perform roof take-offs, site walks, and core cuts as required
• Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
• Prior experience in construction estimating or roofing sales strongly preferred
