Position Overview:
Assistant Superintendent Commercial and Multifamily
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support our commercial and multifamily construction projects. This role will work closely with the Project Superintendent to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in daily coordination and supervision of all field operations for commercial and multifamily projects
Monitor subcontractor performance, quality of work, and adherence to project schedules
Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce OSHA compliance standards
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Coordinate material deliveries and equipment scheduling
Maintain detailed daily reports, progress photos, and project documentation
Assist with quality control inspections and punch list completion
Communicate project status to Project Manager and Superintendent
Resolve field conflicts and coordinate with design team when necessary
Mentor and guide field personnel and subcontractors
Ensure proper implementation of company safety protocols and procedures
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of construction experience in commercial and/or multifamily projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
OSHA 30-Hour certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to work in all weather conditions and job site environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Previous superintendent or foreman experience
Experience with multifamily housing projects (apartments, condos, townhomes)
Knowledge of commercial construction (office, retail, industrial)
Familiarity with project management software (Procore, PlanGrid, etc.)
Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk construction sites daily
Capability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at various elevations
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Visual acuity to inspect work quality and read plans
