    If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is now hiring for a full-time Production Prep Cook for our commissary kitchen in the Seaport. The Prep cook position requires flexible availability and will report directly to the Savory Production Chefs but will also be given direction from the Production Shift Leads and other Commissary Managers.

    The main focus of the Production Prep Cook entails completion of the daily production list as written by BK Savory Production Chefs (or BK Savory Production Shift Lead), while prioritizing items based on the timing of delivery loops to specific locations for that day. Prep Cooks are expected to communicate any issues that may create problems with on-time completion of the production like and are expected to assist all co-workers within the Savory department when needed.

    The current position opening requires the availability to work the following schedule:

    • Sun. 2-10 pm
    • Mon. OFF
    • Tues. 3-10 pm
    • Wed. 3-10 pm
    • Thurs 3-10 pm
    • Friday OFF
    • Saturday 2-10 pm

    Day-to-Day Performance Expectations:

    Provide support for coworkers in order to ensure prep is being done efficiently.

    Follow all recipes and techniques in food preparation.

    Be another set of eyes on ingredient quality from vendor and overall Mom test

    Provide constructive feedback as needed

    Handle food and clean stations per standard sanitation procedures.

    Assist with kitchen upkeep and deep cleaning tasks when production list is complete

    Assist with checking in ordering from BK

    Help maintain an orderly and clean kitchen

    Check-in each day when you arrive and leave with the Production Shift Leader or Production Chef

    Inventory finished product and write appropriate prep lists that meet all finished good pars

    Prioritize items each day based on which loop the items travel and communicate any issues with timing.

    All other duties as assigned

    Skills for Qualification:

    At least one year of professional kitchen experience required

    Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards

    Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.

    Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality

    Ability to take feedback and direction

    Excellent attendance, reliability, communication and interpersonal skills

    Effective time management skills

    Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed

    Work Environment:

    Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and machinery.

    Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures

    We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.

    Compensation:

    The starting wage for this position is $16.50-$18.50 per hour($16.50 per hour + a shared percentage of the sales known as the BOH appreciation, which on average adds around $2 per hour). The starting pay rate for this position is $16.50, but the total pay range is $16.50-$27.00.
