    TRANSPORTATION POLICY AND STRATEGY ASSOCIATE, NORTH AMERICA 

    LOCATION: Washington, D.C. / Remote USA 

     We are looking for a strategic thinker and researcher to be a critical contributor to the North American based CFM policy team. You will work collaboratively with the Asian and European policy teams to support the development and execution of CFM's policy and research roadmap. You will conduct rigorous transportation policy research, compose studies, and develop policy recommendations applicable across North America, Europe, and Asia. You should be passionate about transportation policy research and advocacy, and have specific expertise in freight, passenger transportation, infrastructure, or energy policy. You will need experience conducting transportation policy research that has been adopted by policy makers and about 5 years of experience in the transportation or related industries. You should be excited about working in a fast-paced research and advocacy environment, ready to be nimble and change directions at any given time. You will report to the Transportation Policy and Strategy Manager, North America. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis to support and develop cross-sector policy proposals and solutions. 
    • Manage and develop research interns. 
    • Support the manager in strategically defining geographic specific and global CFM goals and develop roadmaps to guide the Commission towards achieving defined goals. 
    • Collaborate with academic and consulting project partners. 
    • Develop policy recommendations and solutions for critical global mobility challenges. 
    • Compose a range of written materials, for advocacy and information, along with research and analysis. 
    • Represent the Commission at conferences, in public speaking engagements, meetings, etc.

      

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, Political Science, Engineering, Business, or other relevant discipline required; Master's degree in those areas strongly preferred. 
    • 5+ year of experience in transportation policy research, as well as experience with policy analysis and developing policy proposals.  
    • 1+ years working within a transportation specific public agency, legislative body, or in government affairs within North America.  
    • Knowledge and understanding of the North American mobility landscape. 
    • Experience developing and publishing peer reviewed policy research. 
    • Experience creating advocacy support materials, such as talking points, policy briefs, etc.

      

    SALARY 

    $60,000- $90,000 USD for individuals based in Washington, DC. Salaries localized to applicant's geographic location.
