    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for overseeing and leading the commissioning process at the project site, including ensuring required documentation of tests, final inspections and owner training is completed successfully. Manages the commissioning team, which typically consists of Commissioning Specialists and Technicians.

    Position Details

    • Manages commissioning process for the project. ​
    • Works collaboratively with the team to develop the project commissioning plan.
    • Partners with owners’ agent to meet start-up, testing, and integration requirements. ​
    • Partners with on-site personnel to provide and manage equipment and systems for timely completion of scheduled tasks.
    • Provides trouble shooting and problem solving as needed. Provides technical guidance to solve problems; understands when to pull in expertise to solve complex problems.
    • Establishes project milestones and identifies critical paths to accomplish successful integration of commissioning activities.
    • Anticipates and resolves questions before they become problems.
    • Works continuously to eliminate road blocks to keep the commissioning team productive and on schedule.
    • Develops and maintains all startup records and documentation, including factory witness testing documents, pre-functional startup reports, point to point control checks, testing and balance reports, functional performance tests, and integrated systems tests.
    • Develops commissioning schedule, and uses lean planning (pull plans, look ahead schedules) to manage and update the schedule.
    • Works closely with engineering and contracting partners, including the electrical and controls partners, startup and TAB crews.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred or applicable experience
    • ​8+ years’ experience, including 3+ years’ people management
    • ​Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • ​Excellent leadership skills necessary to achieve business and project results
    • ​Strong technical skills in areas of mechanical and electrical building systems, design and operation.
    • ​Strong project management skills
    • ​Ability to set deadlines and adhere to project schedules
    • ​Advanced construction project work-flow knowledge
    • ​Experience in developing and implementing detailed commissioning execution plans
    • ​Ability to motivate and lead employees​
