Commissioning Assistant – Chemical Industry
Location: Indiana Industry: Petrochemical, Project Management Consulting Reports To: Program or Portfolio Director / Operations Manager
Job Summary:
Supports the commissioning process for chemical industry projects, assisting with testing, verification, and start-up activities to ensure systems are fully operational and compliant before handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Support functional testing, system verification, and documentation.
Liaise with engineering, construction, and operations teams.
Track and close commissioning punch list items.
Ensure systems meet operational and safety requirements before handover.
Qualifications:
Technical diploma or degree in Engineering.
Experience in commissioning within chemical or process plants.
Understanding of P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and operational procedures.
Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
Understanding of process safety and operational readiness.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering documentation.
Effective teamwork and coordination skills.
Attention to detail in testing and verification.
Good time management under commissioning deadlines.
Languages:
Fluent in English
