A growing nutraceutical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Commodity Manager with a strong background in powder sourcing, ingredient procurement, and supply chain strategy. The Commodity Manager will play a key role in ensuring a secure, efficient, and cost-effective raw material supply chain — directly impacting production efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, negotiate, and manage strategic vendor partnerships across multiple powder and raw ingredient categories.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, QA, and Procurement) to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and material cost fluctuations to guide purchasing decisions.
Lead supplier evaluation, scorecard reviews, and contract negotiations to ensure optimal pricing, terms, and delivery.
Identify and execute cost reduction and process improvement opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
Visit key suppliers to evaluate facilities, capacity, and compliance with company requirements.
Support business continuity through inventory optimization and commodity strategy execution.
Qualifications
8–10+ years of experience in raw material procurement or sourcing, ideally within nutraceuticals, powders, or food ingredients.
Proven negotiation and supplier management expertise across multiple commodity categories.
Strong understanding of cGMP, quality, and regulatory requirements related to nutraceutical production.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Willingness to travel up to 20% for supplier visits and audits.
