    Concierge, Common House Charlottesville

    Reports to: General Manager

    The role of the Concierge will serve to enhance the Common House Member experience by delivering an excellent level of service and hospitality. Common House Concierges are the first and last face members and guests see and are responsible for member check ins and communications. A successful Concierge has a positive attitude, the ability to multitask, and a desire to work with a diverse team.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Member & Guest Experience

    • Enhance the member experience with positive interactions, acting as the face of the club to all members and guests, greeting them as they come and go
    • Ensure members and guests are accurately checked into and out of the club
    • Distribute welcome packets to new members and orient them to the club during their first visit
    • Alert the team about member birthdays, anniversaries, and other notable information
    • Assist guests with all requests, including but not limited to private event inquiries, meeting spaces, potential partnerships, and special circumstances

    Front Desk Management

    • Answer phone calls and manage the Concierge inbox, respond to inquiries in a timely manner
    • Maintain front desk and coat room organization, as well as restroom stocking
    • Receive mail and deliveries, collect invoices, and distribute those items to the appropriate departments

    Restaurant & Administrative Support

    • Manage dining reservations by maximizing seating, communicating preferences, and coordinating with other club events to avoid conflicts
    • Ensure event documents are printed and posted regularly for the FOH and BOH teams to prepare for and execute private and programming events
    • Create signage and special menus for events using Adobe InDesign
    • Collect relevant data and input into spreadsheets as needed

    Requirements:

    • Education & Experience
      • High school diploma or equivalency required
      • Customer Service and/or Hospitality experience a plus
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Physical Requirements
      • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting at a desk and working on a computer
      • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
      • Must be able to work nights and/or weekends
    • Hours & Scheduling
      • Part time and full time opportunities available, flexible scheduling opportunities
    • Compensation begins at $16/hour
