    Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer

    Responsibilities

    This position will specify and integrate electromechanical components for rotary and linear actuators, including Brushless DC motors, drive electronics, control electronics, feedback devices such as RVDTs and LVDTs, and gear drives.

    Integrate actuation devices with a variety of valves (ball valves, butterfly valves, and spool valves).

    Create electrical schematics, generate bills of material, and provide guidance for PCB layout and manufacture.

    Create development schedules and execute product qualification programs.

    Support product life cycle from initial idea, design, development, test, and introduction to production.

    Develop engineering and product documentation.

    Conduct conceptual design studies.

    Responsible for developing technical proposals with the aid of actuation and valve design engineers.

    Interface and communicate with all levels of personnel within the company as well as suppliers and customers at an appropriate technical level.

    Keep abreast of technological developments and opportunities in the field to assist with incorporating design innovations.

    Required:

    BS - Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.

    5-10 years of experience in a related field. Commercial and Military Aviation and Aerospace experience preferred.

    Simulation using MATLAB and Simulink or related tools.

    Knowledge of aerospace electrical systems and DO-254 requirements a plus.

    Familiar with PCB design, component placement and routing. Familiar with IPC standards as they relate to PCB design and fabrication. Reliability and safety analyses of electrical hardware a plus.

    Brushless DC motor control design experience strongly preferred.

    Knowledge and experience designing for electromagnetic interferences.

    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    Effective communication skills - verbal and written.
