    Material Handler/Inventory/Warehouse

    Hours: 7am to 3:30pm M-F The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the warehouse functions including the receiving and processing incoming materials, inspection, milk routes, cycle counts, and product labeling, to ensure the successful operation of production activities and performance of the shift. This includes the successful planning and execution of tasks, daily activities and additional assignments as requested.

    Responsibilities:

    Coordinating the outflow and inflow of inventory, as well as shipment, loading, storage activities within the company.

    Receive, inspect and record shipments according to standard operating procedures (SOP).

    Report and communicate warehouse and employee performance activities to Group Manager.

    Daily reporting of Stock-outs at point of use and warehouse; warehouse cycle counting, IT Performance related to warehouse/receiving operations.

    Maintain, replenish and audit Kanban through out the facility on daily basis.

    Organize work tasks within the shift.

    Conduct and participate in continuous improvement meetings; ensure operator understanding and participation of the improvement activities.

    Participate in the review, edit or update and creation of standard operating procedures (SOP's).

    Responsible for weekly 5S and workplace safety audits as well as other related improvements activities / projects / assignments.

    Assist in the on-boarding and training of new warehouse associates.

    Ensure compliance to local and global Quality Management System per established procedures.

    Support and participate internal/external quality system audits as required.

    Assist in investigating non-conforming materials and customer complaints.

    Ensure there are no stock-outs at point of use nor at the warehouse level.

    Label incoming products according to SOP for Kanban or bar coding needs.

    Investigate quality problems if needed, and inform Group Manager and QA.

    Ensure that stock inventory is carried out in a timely manner and that it is in line with the stock balance to avoid mix up.

    Other tasks / duties as assigned by plant management.

    Required:

    Bachelor’s degree and / or equivalent work experience working in Logistics warehousing or material handling.

    Hands on knowledge of material handling.

    Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles; (Six Sigma yellow or green belt training and/or certification a plus).

    Proficiency in relevant SOP's and workplace safety training.

    Effective and appropriate communication skills (verbal and written).

    Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Network); SAP a plus.

    Critical Skills/technical know-how: (what the role holder must be able to do).

    Good team skills to be able to work with others.

    Great eye for detail.

    Good math skills.

    Good leadership skills.

    Ability to fully carry out instructions.

    Ability to multitask.

    Good knowledge of record keeping.
