Selective Wave Solder Programmer/Technician Overview BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOP OF JOB: The Selective Wave Solder Programmer is a well-rounded individual with expertise in all aspects of Selective Wave Soldering Technology. Some of the functions include, but are not limited to: Creating new programs for the Nordson/Cerno 103IL Selective Soldering machine, running pcbs through the machine, optimizing programs for 0 soldering defects, preventative maintenance. This position requires an excellent understanding of the Selective Wave Soldering process
WORK PERFORMED:
Generate programs for the Selective Wave Soldering Machine (Lead and Lead free)
Run pcbs through the Selective Wave Soldering Machine
Optimize programs to prevent the need for touch up
Maintain consumable items (flux, solder, LN2)
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment
Provide technical support to machine operators
Perform other direct and in-direct tasks as required
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
High School Diploma/GED required
Technical degree/certificate preferred
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3-5 years of experience programming, maintaining and troubleshooting Selective Wave Soldering equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of IPC-A-610, Class 3 workmanship standards.
Good communication skills; both verbally and in writing
Cerno 103IL Selective Soldering Module experience is a plus
Must be able to read and understand Bill of Materials, Assembly drawings.
Good mechanical skills
Very well versed with MS Office and AS400
Work and communicate well with Production Operators, Engineers, Designers and Management.
