Process Engineering Specialist

About the job: This position is responsible to lead complex technical projects. Ensures the manufacturing processes are efficient, cost effective, meet Company’s quality standards and yield products per customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

Process Analysis 50%

Analyzes, assesses, and provides expert recommendations for improving or simplifying business process.

Evaluates, measures and monitors business processes and ensures outcomes are in harmony with the organization’s goals.

Works collaboratively across all departments of the organization to help improve the management of a business process.

Introduces innovation into the process that can impact results, improve efficiency and assist the organization to meet its business objectives and goals.

Develops and implements quantitative and qualitative methods for measuring the impact of process improvement.

Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interfaces with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of end-user reporting solutions.

Provides engineering support in determining root cause for complex issues and works with Quality Engineers to develop appropriate corrective actions.

Process Improvement & Documentation 50%

Provides expert analytical advice to the customers on matters relating to process and technology.

Understands complex automated machinery and technologies and is a subject matter expert in multiple areas within the business.

Identifies process gaps and organizational inefficiencies using process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Business Process Re-engineering.

Provides technical documentation for each process that includes the policy and/or procedure underpinnings necessary for the customer to publish official documents that dictate processes, procedures, and security requirements associated with each development effort.

Provides user documentation for new processes delivered.

Reads complex blueprints and aligns manufacturing process to drive effective improvements and resolves complicated issues.

Leads projects, teams and complex product transitions. Provides mentorship and support to team members.

Develops all aspects of product and processes to improve functionality and launch new products.

Quarantines and documents products and materials.

Required:

BS degree in Engineering or a related field is required.

7-10 years of engineering experience is required.

Must have demonstrated ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.

Must have strong experience with blueprint reading including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA, GR&R), Design of Experiments (DOE).

Experience in injection molding, metal fabrication or medical device manufacturing is required.

Must have statistical software systems and ERP experience.

Must have knowledge of relevant mathematical and statistical sciences.

Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

Proficient with data analysis, statistics and applied mathematics.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Minitab Statistical Software. Proficient with MS Office Suite.
