Communicare is a community mental health center in North Central Mississippi that serves Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate and Yalobusha counties. Communicare offers specialized treatment services for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Communicare is currently seeking a Mental Health Therapist at our Lafayette County in Oxford, MS.

The position requires a Master's in psychology, social work, counseling, or other equivalent degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide evidence based therapeutic services while maintaining fidelity to promote healing from substance use and mental health disorders.

Appropriately utilize and accept clinical supervision in order to provide the highest quality mental health care as possible.

Conduct ongoing assessments with clients to determine appropriate diagnoses and facilitate treatment planning.

Attend and participate in all treatment team meetings.

Provide family therapy in person or through telemedicine on a routine basis while the client is in treatment.

Complete all documentation within the timeline provided in the electronic medical record.

If needed, assist in collecting data as required by many grant funders.

Provide crisis-based intervention and services within the Sunflower Landing campus, when requested by a supervisor.

Work with other agencies as necessary for the provision and coordination of substance abuse/mental health services.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or other equivalent degree.

Current independent license and/or ability to obtain a DMH mental health therapist certification required.

Ability to relate positively to mental health and substance abuse clients.

Ability to work independently and to accept supervision.

Complete and maintain all required trainings from the agency and regulatory outside agencies.

Valid Mississippi driver’s license, personal auto, liability insurance, and insurable driving record.

Acceptable criminal background check.
