    PURPOSE:

    To help Cornerstone Church achieve its mission of Helping People Know Jesus and Make Him Known by creating high-quality communications that engage target audiences across platforms and communication outlets. This role supports the Communications department and collaborates with the Worship, Video, and Tech Arts teams to serve the church and its ministries. It contributes to a healthy, productive culture by being relational, helpful, and aligned with Cornerstone’s brand—connecting with people in authentic, relevant ways.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Communication Support

    · Assist graphic designer with basic layout tasks or simple updates when needed, using existing templates or brand guidelines.

    · Help create and edit email newsletters, announcements, and other communications as needed under the direction of the Communications Manager.

    · Support the execution of communication plans for Sunday services, churchwide events, and ministry initiatives—helping organize and distribute content as needed.

    · Help audit and review website content to ensure information is accurate, current, and aligned with Cornerstone’s messaging and events; assist in creating and updating web copy and content as needed.

    · Contribute ideas and support execution for external marketing efforts and outreach strategies to help expand Cornerstone’s visibility and connect with the broader community.

    Social Media & Content Creation

    · Collaborate with the communications team, video team, and photography volunteers to plan and create social media content that reflects Cornerstone’s heart and voice—celebrating life change, highlighting community, and sharing content that’s authentic, inspirational, and relational.

    · Create or collaborate with team members to develop social media content such as reels, carousel posts, stories, and graphic-based posts that support series, events, and everyday engagement.

    · Track performance and engagement, offering insights to help shape future content strategy.

    · Stay up to date on platform trends and best practices to help Cornerstone remain relevant and continue fostering trust and connection with our online audience.

    TEAMWORK

    · Participate in monthly department meetings

    · Participate in staff meetings

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

    · Must know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior with a heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to use communications to reach others.

    · Strong written communication and organizational skills.

    · Organized, creative thinker and highly productive

    · Familiarity with Microsoft 365 apps & Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop & Illustrator)

    · Experience with social media tools and digital platforms.

    · Understanding of copyright and trademark basics.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    · Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, or related field, or 2+ years of experience.
