Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Communications Assistant to support our communications team. This entry-level role involves assisting with content creation, media outreach, event support, and internal communications. Key Responsibilities:
Assist with drafting press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and other communications materials
Support media outreach and relationship-building efforts
Help coordinate events and community engagement activities
Monitor and report on media coverage and social media engagement
Maintain communications databases and contact lists
Collaborate with team members on campaigns and projects
Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; relevant coursework a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Proactive, eager to learn, and a team player
Basic knowledge of social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience or interest in public relations, marketing, or nonprofit communications is a plus
