    PURPOSE

    To help Cornerstone Church achieve its mission of helping people to know Jesus and make him known by managing the Communication department and to walk along side of peer support teams of the organization and individual ministries. Advising on best practices and helping to continuously improve as a Church, ministry, and Communications team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job Roles & Duties:

    · Primary Goal: Support Cornerstone Church’s mission of helping people to know Jesus and make Him Known.

    · Collaboration: Work with worship, video, and tech arts directors and other ministries to support the Sunday Worship experience and individual ministries throughout the week.

    · Support: Manage department projects and adjust the scope and scale of a project to be realistic while still fulfilling the project goal. Support the Sunday worship experience and individual ministries engage internal and external target audiences. Create high impact communications and marketing assets. Help the church and ministries successfully interact with the Communication Department though transparent, clear, and well-defined workflows and roles.

    · Culture: Foster a collaborative and productive environment for staff, interns, and volunteers where creativity thrives, and failure is not feared. Build relational trust and encourage transparent and open dialogue.

    · Brand: With the direction of the supervisor, oversee, maintain and cultivate the Cornerstone brand, ensuring that it is consistent and upheld. All promotional material, ensuring compliance and consistency across all mediums and platforms of communications (print and digital). Help the employees and volunteers at Cornerstone take their next step and make it easy for new employees to discover and join the Cornerstone community. Help Cornerstone and its ministries build and strengthen relationships locally and globally through its community partners, projects and events.

    Leadership Duties:

    · Manage and coordinate the day-to-day projects of the Graphic Designer, Web Specialist, and volunteers

    · Project management in a deadline driven work environment while balancing a diverse workload

    · Help train and engage volunteers and ministry leaders in how to engage with their target audiences through various tools and platforms

    Technical Duties:

    · Carrying an active project workload in addition to leadership duties. Examples include,

    o Creating and executing both internal & external marketing plans for physical and digital platforms

    o Writing for various formats including scripts, newsletters, and social media content

    o Creating graphics, taking and editing photos

    o Surveying, data analysis, and reporting

    o Manage, and support various digital platforms including websites, apps, social media

    o Be highly proficient with project management software, One Church, Microsoft and Adobe, creative suites, Outlook, Teams, Planner, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other industry related software

    o Knowledgeable in current video trends

    o Comprehensive knowledge of copyright and trademark regulations

    o Help train volunteers, and ministry leaders on how to create content that engages with their target audiences thought various tools and platforms

    TEAMWORK:

    · Participates in weekly staff meetings

    · Participates in weekly worship service review meetings

    · Participates in monthly meetings with Vid, Comm, Tech and worship

    · Participates in weekly meetings with supervisor

    BUDGETARY:

    · Prepares annual budget for Comm department within the general budget

    · Oversees and monitors progress toward annual budget expenditure throughout the year

    · Oversees monthly variance

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

    · Must know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior

    · A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to use communications to reach others

    · Organized, creative thinker and highly productive, working in a fast-paced environment.

    · Ability to adjust assignments on a moment’s notice

    · Works well under hard deadlines

    · Excellent written and oral communication skills

    · Excellent writing skills both for press and popular audiences

    · Excellent use of Microsoft Office Applications

    · Experience in Creative suite programs, such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

    · Ambitious, energetic, strong initiative

    · Update to date on industry best practices, professional development of self and team creatively adapting methods for a Church environment

    · Knowledge of copy and Trademark regulations

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    · Bachelor's degree in communications or 3 years in Communication Director’s role
