COMSEC Responsible Officer

About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a COMSEC Responsible Officerto join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) will provide COMSEC support for multiple Special Access Programs (SAP) in the organization.
There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must have a Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA)
Responsibilities:
- Assists in mandatory semi-annual COMSEC inventories to ensure accountability of all SAP equipment.
- Assists in the preparation of user guidance for proper protection, handling, and accountability and other classified or restricted records and materials.
- Ensures that all secure communications equipment and material is properly accounted for, transferred, safeguarded, controlled, and destroyed as directed by government regulations and policies.
- Interacts with various military organizations and government agencies regarding the COMSEC requirements as a liaison and SME between programs and sponsors.
- Coordinates with government agencies to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations as required.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of Emergency Action Plans and customize plans in accordance with appropriate applications.
- Ensures inspection readiness at all times, to include assisting field sites, and participate in government and self-reviews.
- May provide support to other COMSEC accounts as needed.
- Will perform other industrial security related duties as assigned.?
Must Have- Clearance Level: Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- 5 years - DoD/NSA Policies & Technologies (COMSEC)
- 5 years - Practical cryptography functions (e.g., key management
- 5 years - Security
- 5 years - COMSEC Equipment
- 5 years - Cryptographic principles and application (e.g., ECC, RSA, JWT)
- 5 years - Experience requesting and receive keying material via over-the-air transfer (OTAT) for SAP
- 5 years - Experience with identification, installation, software upgrades, and configuration of COMSEC devices
- 5 years - Previous work experience in SAP environments
Requirements:
- Experience requesting and receiving keying material via over-the-air transfer (OTAT) for SAP.
- Experience with identification, procurement, installation, software upgrades, and configuration of encryption devices and provide troubleshooting assistance in cases of communication disruption of critical SAP networks.
- Previous work experience in SAP environments
- Experience working with COMSEC accounts
- Experience with COMSEC policies, such as NSA or service related
Preferred Skills:- Familiar with AFMAN (Air Force Manual) for COMSEC
