That’s just job-description speak for saying, we need someone who not only has the chops to do the job but the passion to do it right.

    You’re a good fit if:

    · You should have a bachelor’s in journalism, public relations, communications, advertising or marketing, and four or more years of experience

    · Seems obvious, but you need a demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

    · We need someone who’s really good at all the tech required to do this job and proven work experience to back that up

    · This role will handle multiple brands and companies, so you need to be able to stretch your strategy across them all while staying true to each brand’s voice and tone

    · But you should also have the ability to grasp emerging trends and adapt appropriately (We don’t stand still around here!)

    · You’ll figure out the best time to schedule communications for each channel based on best practices and engagement trends (so we’re not just talking into the abyss)

    · It should go without saying, but we want someone who sweats the details (and triple-checks their work)

    · You should have experience with communications and public relations strategy and tactics (and know how to wield that power responsibly yet effectively)

    · We want exceptional skills in writing and proofreading

    · You need to have solid research practices and instinctively know where to access information online

    · You should be an effective relationship builder, and have a keen ability to coordinate with other employee-owners across the country to gather company updates and important information to disseminate across channels (\#investigativejournalism)

    · You should be keen on research! This role will stay up to date with emerging communications technologies, and learn about our audience demographics and preferences to help guide our approach

    · Project management skills are crucial, so you’ll need to have a sense of urgency and know how to meet project deadlines (because you don’t want to be that person…), all while working independently and as part of a team (I promise we’re fun)

    Bonus skills/experience:

    · Know a little about the A/E/C industry already? Bonus!

    · Know about civil construction, too? Double bonus!

    · We use Mailchimp (email/text), Sprout (social media), and Cision (PR), so it would be fantastic if you already know those tech tools.

    · Know your way around SEO? That’s good! Definitely a clutch skill that will come in handy.

    · ¿Hablas español? We routinely translate our copy into Spanish. If you can write or QC Spanish content, that would be outstanding!
