Maleda Tech is seeking a Communications Specialist to support trust and safety communications within a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. This role focuses on shaping and protecting brand reputation by supporting both proactive storytelling and reactive communications efforts.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage media inquiries, develop messaging, and contribute to communications strategies that strengthen trust with key audiences. Support trust and safety-related communications, including reactive media responses and proactive campaigns
Serve as a point of contact for press inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and thoughtful responses
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., policy, legal, support) to align on messaging and communications strategy
Identify and develop opportunities for positive media coverage and storytelling
Draft high-quality written materials including messaging documents, Q&As, briefings, reports, presentations, and talking points
Assist with media monitoring, tracking, and reporting
Maintain strong organization and prioritization across multiple workstreams
Provide general coordination and operational support to the communications team
3+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
Experience working with journalists and handling media inquiries
Proven ability to support or execute communications campaigns that drive positive press and engagement
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
Excellent organizational and time management skills in fast-paced environments
Proactive, self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-oriented under pressure
Bachelor's degree required
Start Date: April, 2026
Duration: 12 months (through April, 2027)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday)
Location: Remote (U.S., West Coast hours preferred)
Compensation: $35-$40/hour (W2) + benefits
