    Position summary: The successful candidate will assist with marketing, communications, and public involvement/community outreach activities on client transportation and infrastructure related contracts and projects.

    Essential functions and responsibilities

    • Census data, demographic, stakeholder/audience, and other related research
    • Communication and Outreach plan and strategy development and implementation
    • Content development and editing for print and electronic materials
    • Development of concepts for branding, design elements, and videos
    • Social media and other outreach tool analytics and strategy
    • Meeting/event planning and attendance
    • Marketing and promotional activities
    • Public and media relations
    • Record tracking, documentation, and reporting
    • Other related/administrative tasks as assigned

    Nonessential functions and responsibilities

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must
    • Self-starter with attention to detail and strong time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to multi-task and handle a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment
    • Outgoing, energetic personality who works well both independently and within a team setting
    • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Proficient in social media and the use of other outreach tool platforms such as Survey Monkey, Poll Everywhere, WebEx, etc.

    Required Experience

    • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations or related discipline
    • 3-5 years of experience in public information and communication - prior government agency/transportation/infrastructure experience a plus

    Preferred Experience

    • Graphic design, web design, and/or video editing skills and Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. May requires some evening and weekend hours and travel to public meetings and events.
