What Will I Do?
The Business Development Officer serves as the inbound and outbound service banker for Frontier Bank prospects and customers seeking to start and grow a relationship with our bank. They are also responsible for ICS portfolio and new accounts functions.
Additionally, this role sells to, and services Frontier Bank household and business prospects and customers seeking to start and/or grow a relationship with our bank. The ideal candidate has the experience and demeanor of a banker ready to help grow, services, and retain meaningful customer relationship with Frontier Bank.
Primary Responsibilities
- Demonstrates Frontier Bank of Texas values: HONESTY, LOYALTY, DEPENDABILITY, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY, RESPECT.
- Provides superior service to prospects and clients seeking to do business with Frontier Bank.
- Outbound business calls with lenders and serves as subject matter expert for depository offerings and digital services.
- Ongoing development of community partnerships (Chamber membership, Property Exchange with realtors, Economic Development Board).
- Retains management of ICS portfolio and carries high-dollar customers.
- Assumes more lending duties over time within lending function.
- Opens new accounts in the Branch, especially business accounts.
- Supports deposit operations such as teller line management or assistance, in times of need.
- Actively seeks to acquire, service, and retain new business for Frontier Bank including mortgage loans, small business loans, consumer loans, and deposit opportunities.
- Provides excellent customer service to existing customers.
- Assists in marketing efforts to promote the Frontier Bank of Texas brand.
- Offers additional services to clients, including Debit Cards, Online Banking, Mobile Deposit, E-Statements, Credit Cards, and other Frontier Bank products.
- Engages in a needs-based approach to determine client needs and responds with solutions that fit those needs.
- Participates in community events and represents the bank with distinction.
- Handles small-dollar consumer lending with decisioned and cash-secured loans.
- Takes consumer loan applications and/or refers opportunities to senior lending team.
- Partners with senior lending team on commercial real estate and larger commercial loan opportunities.
- Continues development and education in the lending function.
- Effectively works with teams inside and outside of a branch environment.
- Knows or seeks to learn how to ask appropriate questions to open conversations that lead to strong relationships with customers, prospects, and communities.
- Prospects for new small business, not-for-profit, public, and household relationships.
- Knows or seeks to learn how to use and commits to leverage advanced prospecting tools, including S&P Global and Vertical IQ solutions.
- Knows and sells advanced Digital Banking solutions, including Treasury Management products, mobile, online, debit cards, credit cards, and related services.
- Opens and onboards new deposit accounts and related services.
- Mentors and cross-trains Community Banking Representatives and Community Bankers.
- Partners with other Portfolio Managers to source and win business, including new deposits, loans, and related services.
- Actively participates in community events, CRA activities, and other opportunities to represent Frontier Bank with distinction.
