    Job Description

    _APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED OR AT THE DISCRETION OF GREAT BAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE. _

    SCOPE OF WORK: Develop, implement and maintain the college’s web presence in order to support the College’s strategic marketing plan and overall strategic plan. This position reports to the Public Information Officer at Great Bay Community College.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Responsible for the maintenance and content management of college website as a Wordpress webmaster.
    • Maintains and updates the college’s websites including promoting events, and integrating new technologies and web services that complement the Marketing department’s goals.
    • Initiates design and content changes to the college’s websites to provide the most current information to college constituencies.
    • Works directly with other departments to develop web content and enforces brand standards that aligns with the college’s branding guidelines.
    • Works with outside website vendor to communicate higher level framework issues and needs.
    • Maintains, creates, collaborates and implements content to social networking sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, to broaden the college’s advertising and online presence.
    • Supports web-based platforms and tools used by other departments.
    • Provides branding assistance to other department’s web-based platforms.
    • Uses e-mail marketing (e.g. Constant Contact) to reach target audiences.
    • Analyzes and reviews website reports to evaluate the website’s success and implement improvements based on that analysis.
    • Provides technical support and training in the use of electronic documents/templates and computer software to college personnel.
    • Works with minimum supervision and oversees web projects from conceptualization to final production.
    • In the absence of the college graphic designer will update college print publications as needed.
    • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: Associate’s degree from a recognized college or technical school. Two years of college with at least fifteen (15) credit hours in the field of computer sciences, including fluency in Wordpress (CMS platform).  Each additional year of approved formal education in web programming/development may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    EXPERIENCE:  Three years of experience in web development.  Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of web design and working knowledge with CMS software Joomla and Drupal, JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office. Strong written communication skills including; writing for the web. Understanding of design manipulation and photo and video files, color pairing and creation of on-line forms. Knowledge and experience in management of social networking sites, strategies and technologies. Knowledge of responsive web design techniques. Understanding of strategic marketing concepts.

    RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the principles of systematic problem solving and the fundamentals of information processing. Knowledge of the development of documentation techniques, flow charting and problem solving using computer language. Ability to communicate patiently and effectively with various department and division representatives. Ability to reduce problems to basic detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel in this and other colleges. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
