     POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under direction from the Partnership Tax Group the Tax Paraprofessional will be responsible for basic tax preparation services for clients.  The Tax Paraprofessional will also prepare workpapers and schedules for complex tax engagements. Full time and/or flexible work schedule available.

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare basic tax returns and on more complex tax engagements, accumulate data for tax preparation
    • Prepare engagement correspondence (tax notices, engagement letters, other correspondence with clients)
    • Preparation of workpapers, including scanning documents, organizing, referencing, etc.
    • Run tax returns final for processing/review processing
    • Provide advanced administrative services by entering data in software applications
    • Billing for engagements
    • Adhere to and enhance standard procedures for tax prep and workpaper prep
    • Provide superior client service and adhere to time budgets
    • Maintain timely communication with client and engagement team
    • Review work for accuracy
    • Perform other duties as assigned by team

    Required Skills

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

    • Bachelors or Associates degree with 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or payroll
    • Experience with preparation of basic personal and business returns
    • Knowledge of accounting principles related to classifying, recording and summarizing financial records
    • Advanced computer skills and knowledge including advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Process driven, ability to define and adhere to repeatable processes
    • Ability to work independently and attention to detail and directions
    • Develop relationships with professional staff in addition to clients
    • Ability to multi-task, communicate and develop relationship with clients
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • A willingness to diversify knowledge to other specialized areas
