POSITION SUMMARY
- ENSURE DRIVER EFFICIENCY through dispatch while overseeing that all customer expectations are met according to service agreements
- ORCHESTRATE AND INFLUENCE the movement of drivers, trucks and freight in order to make pick-ups and deliveries in a timely and efficient manner
- GUIDE and review drivers' working hours and equipment availability
- Record Retention, assess driver daily logs for errors/violations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Daily coordination of local and regional drivers. Ensuring the following guidelines: ACCURACY, RESPECT, AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Dispatch drivers in accordance to customer requests and in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies/procedures
Monitor both drivers in relation to their remaining hours of service and equipment as to its availability
Analyze scheduling issues while maintaining and leading INDUSTRY ON-TIME service performance
Coordinate and execute back haul planning for optimal driver utilization
Assist in the warehouse, including packing, moving and delivery of customer loads. Will be required to backfill other positions within the facility
Provide candid and honest performance feedback to drivers, while keeping management breifed
Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Must have ability to identify what is needed to be accomplished and immediately drive towards solutions that meet existing needs of the business.
- Full knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be easily understood by others with the ability to give clear direction
- Organizational and prioritization skills, as well as follow-through capabilities
- Effective listening and strong communication skills ensuring effective interaction with drivers, customers, and colleagues
- Must have efficient data entry skills ensuring record accuracy and a high attention to detail
- Meet work standards by following productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; and identifying process improvements
- Coaches and counsels driver performance relative to performance standards
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task, particularly during peak season when high volume exists
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree is preferential
- Preferred candidate will have a minimum of two years prior industry experience (trucking, warehousing, logistics, pricing, scheduling, routing, load board experience, filling backhauls and load planning)
- CDL license or the ability to obtain CDL is strongly preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow through skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment, and be flexible/adaptable to change
- Proven track record in leadership, service, attendance, and reliability
- Excellent computer skills essential for success in this role.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in Household goods also preferred
