    PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

     

    The Adjunct Instructor for Psychology is responsible for teaching part-time within the program. The successful Adjunct Instructor for Psychology must possesses the academic and practical expertise to guide student learning and success, and to serve as a mentor and model for students. This position will demonstrate strong instructional skills and engage a diverse student body using traditional, nontraditional, and innovative methods of instruction and effectively structure classes and curriculum to support program and course outcomes.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    The Adjunct Instructor for Psychology will teach assigned classes. The days and times of classes are dependent on schedule and enrollment. 

     

    MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    EDUCATION:         The successful Psychology adjunct instructor must have a Master’s degree in Psychology or related Master’s degree and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline to be taught. 

     

    EXPERIENCE:       Two (2) years of experience teaching Psychology in a community college, college or university setting.

     

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:     

    • Experience teaching in multi-cultural settings.
    • Collaborative teaching experience.
    • Demonstrated skills working with a team.
    • Curriculum and program development experience.
    • Knowledge of, and experience with program assessment.
    • Experience teaching on-line courses.
    • Administrative skills.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Experience working in a clinical setting.
    • Research experience.
