    JOB TITLE: College Pathways Student Assistant, Work-Study

     

    DEPARTMENT: College Pathways

     

    PAY RATE: $12.85 per hour 

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 1

     

    Spring 2020

    Fall 2020

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    •  Student Assistant will work on a variety of office support functions, namely office reception and data entry.
    •  Office reception and data entry
    •  Filing, typing/word processing, office feedback recording, and creating information displays.
    •  Scheduling appointments for staff members.
    •  Answer general student inquiries via phone.
    •  Organize data on Excel.
    •  Monitor Front Desk.
    •  Schedule appointment.
    •  Other duties as assigned that include general office support activities.

     

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    •  Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.

     

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    •  Six months of general office support or six months of customer service experience.
    •  Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office programs preferred.
    •  Proficiency in oral and written communication.
    •  Strong customer service skills.

     

    TIME COMMITMENT

     

    Up to 20  hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline.

    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows (current) and Office (current), and proficiency with database, spreadsheet, real-time, and internet applications required.

    • Ability to prioritize assigned projects, multi-task, and confidently make critical decisions in a fast- paced environment.

    • Must have strong customer service, time management, organizational skills, and written/verbal communication skills.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

      The job will require sitting in an indoor office environment, the need to visually read various written materials including, but not limited to paper documents and computer monitors.  The job may also require standing, bending, walking, lifting up to 10 lbs., carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, driving, and airline travel. 

      The incumbent will have the ability to use standard office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, calculator, and copy and fax machines.  Travel required to meetings in other office buildings including local and domestic.
