    Jewish Federation of St. Louis has an excellent opportunity to join our team in supporting local early childhood education efforts as a Community Coordinator. This position is a 12-month, part-time or full-time role, ranging from 20 to 30+ hours per week, with an hourly pay range of $28–$33. We offer a unique opportunity for flexibility—this role could be filled by one full-time employee or two part-time employees. Candidates interested in either option are encouraged to apply!

    The Community Coordinator plays an integral role as a connector to St. Louis Jewish early childhood centers, helping to coordinate professional development, recruit new teachers and substitutes, and establish a healthy and cohesive early childhood ecosystem. This work will be done with the guidance and support of the national ElevatEd initiative. The Community Coordinator will report to, and receive additional support from, the Director of Foundations at Jewish Federation of St. Louis. This role is also part of a national cohort of communities implementing the ElevatEd initiative.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred
    • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and Early Childhood Jewish Education (ECJE), as well as familiarity with the local ECJE landscape, is preferred
    • Established relationships with ECJE directors in the St. Louis region is preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Supporting schools and educators as a coach, connector, and resource
    • Facilitating reflection sessions for emerging educators and mentors, and supporting mentors in their work
    • Engaging with educators about their experiences in ElevatEd
    • Partnering with the national team to distribute local resources
    • Tracking attendance, following up on absences and addressing any challenges faced by ElevatEd participants to ensure program participation
    • Coordinating in-person gatherings and meetings
    • Partnering with marketing to promote ElevatEd on social media
    • Participating in sessions with other Community Coordinators from around the country to share best practices and address local challenges
    • Participating in classes for Emerging Educators and Mentors in order to be able to facilitate reflection sessions;
    • Collaborating with the national team and local ECJE directors to support the hiring of new educators
    • Identifying local markets and demographics for teacher recruitment
    • Supporting directors in recruitment processes
    • Exploring partnerships within the community for substitute coverage
    • Attending local job fairs and community events to promote ElevatEd and boost recruitment
    • Other duties as assigned
