The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is looking for a Data Analyst to support our efforts to utilize data to more effectively understand and serve those struggling with hunger. We’re looking for a data-savvy professional who can uncover the story behind the numbers and tell that story to both technical and non-technical audiences to drive strategy for our organization. This role will report to the Impact Leader and is currently remote due to COVID-19 (ordinarily located in our Hillside, NJ office).  

The person in this role will act as the point person for performing rigorous statistical data analysis in-house to support organizational learning and performance management. In addition, you will collaborate across departments to manage and execute all stages of data-related projects, from establishing data collection protocols and cleansing of complex data sets, to providing analysis and visualization of data findings, and creating models and dashboards to identify trends and track change over time. You will support the preparation of reports for internal and external audiences, including Board reports. You will also assist with data automation projects to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our reporting and analytics.  

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, applied research, and/or program evaluation (nonprofit experience preferred).
• Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, with demonstrated success in team environments. 
• Ability to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in a collaborative and deadline-oriented workplace. 
• The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi‐task while remaining detail oriented and organized is essential for success. 
• Proficiency with statistical software (R preferred), as well as spatial analysis using Tableau and/or ArcGIS are preferred. 
• Database experience and advanced Excel skills, including familiarity with creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
