Job Description

Our Social Workers are esponsible for the social assessment of all adolescent patients; for intervention on behalf of any other patient who requests or is referred for social services. Responsibility also includes the mutual development and implementation of a plan designed to strengthen the life skills of that individual.  

With emphasis on:

·        Decisions regarding family planning which best suit the patient’s own needs, desires and values in relation to their sexuality and their reproductive health;

·        Development of responsible sexual behavior which reduces the risks and incidences of STDs, HIV and unplanned pregnancy;

·        Development of life options for individuals through services directed at expansion of their opportunities;

·        Identification and education of abuse (child, domestic, sexual, substance) for the purpose of prevention and, when necessary, for protection with special attention paid to minors involved in sexual relationships with adults.

Social workers will be expected to participate in the on-going development of the Social Work Department through dialogue and through their assessments of the structural impact of service delivery.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master’s Degree in Social Work (LMSW)
• Bilingual Spanish a must
